Inspiring Us This Week: Madison County 4-H Foundation-4-H Youth Development

In Madison County alone more than 500 youth are reached through the variety of programming that is offered through the 4-H program which is why this program is “Inspiring Us This Week”. The Madison County 4-H program allows children to become self sufficient, educated, and sets children up for success by providing opportunities to learn, develop life skills, and discover interests that may otherwise go undetected. Thanks to Madison County 4-H and the support they give, local children, like the child in this story, are one step closer to success!

A youth participant of the Madison County 4-H program recently graduated high school and was able to attend college on behalf of the 4-H scholarships that they were awarded due to their years of participation in the program and its various components. This individual was the first from their family to attend college. The individual came from a less fortunate family that had relocated to Madison County from another country. The youth was awarded enough scholarship funds to attend college with NO COST to the parents. Without their participation in the 4-H program, this would not have been possible for the child, or the family.
