Louisiana Flood Relief

Louisiana Flood Relief 1

We’ve always known our Gift In Kind Warehouse does big things, but this past week the warehouse got the chance to be involved in something even BIGGER! While giving back to the local community a range of the thousands and thousands of supplies the warehouse receives from Walmart return centers is our number one priority, the opportunity to help out with the Louisiana flood relief was a time we needed to give back outside our NWA borders.

The catastrophic flood has been tagged as the worst natural disaster  since Hurricane Sandy four years ago. People lost everything as the flood filled their homes, streets and communities. Inches of rain amounted to feet of rainfall, forcing locals out of their homes. To help in relief efforts, the Gift In Kind Warehouse paired with the Louisiana Food Bank to send nearly 33 pallets of materials (enough to fill an 18-wheeler!), and the Baton Rouge Food Bank, coordinated through Feeding America and the Arkansas Food Bank, to send 23 pallets. Estimated dollar value for these donations total nearly $150,000 worth of products!

Thank you to our hard working staff and volunteers at the Gift In Kind Warehouse who helped make this possible! #LiveUnited
