In honor of #GivingTuesday, some of the staff wanted to share with the community why they choose to give their time and money to United Way of Northwest Arkansas!
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
Kim Johnson- Manger, Child Pathway Out of Poverty Programs“I just like to help people and know that I’m making a difference in peoples’ lives.”
Belinda Davis- Associate Manager, Finance & Administration
“I definitely believe in the mission that we are doing, especially with children living in poverty. I grew up in a very low-income household myself, so I relate to both the people we’re helping and the need to assist and even outside of the [children living in poverty] message I believe in a lot of what United Way as a whole does to help communities.”
Jeannette Cox- Director, Finance & Administration “I just feel like I’ve been blessed in so many ways, and I feel like when you give you get so much more out of it…I think I’m on the better end of the stick as far as the benefits I receive just by giving to others and helping others.”
Holly Sparks Hill- Director, Urgent & Essential Community Programs
“I give to United Way because it’s a great opportunity to support the community: children, individuals and families in hopes that they can have a great life.”
Alexa McGriff- Director, Marketing & Direct Programs
“I give because I have been helped by nonprofits and I know the importance of giving to nonprofits so that they can do the awesome work that they do. So, now I give back so that I can help other people in the same way that I was helped.”
Kelsey Brock- Associate Manager, Marketing& Direct Programs“My ultimate goal in life has always been to help people and make a difference in the world, and I feel like by giving my time and money to United Way I’m able to accomplish that goal.”
