Arkansas Gives Day was hosted yesterday, April 2nd, and was a one day, online giving event where people could donate to their choice of 350 different non-profits across the state. The goal was to raise 1 million dollars in 12 hours. This number was passed and almost doubled. $1,968,953 was raised across the state thanks to 7,552 donors.
The money each non-profit rose was leveraged by a $250,000 match pool granted by the Arkansas Community Foundation. The match pool was given to the non-profits by determining what percentage of the whole they raised and then each organization receives that percentage of the match pool. In addition to this match pool, the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation chose 25 of their grantees to match their donations up to $2000, including United Way of Northwest Arkansas.
Would you believe me if I told you that United Way of Northwest Arkansas only set a goal for $2000 for yesterday?
Thanks to 22 amazing donors we hit that goal. Then, we hit it 10 MORE TIMES! We raised $22,813.
After adding in the Winthrop Rockefeller donation match and our percentage of the Arkansas Community Foundation match, you raised approximately $27,709! THANK YOU for all of the support and donations! You are United Way and we couldn’t have done this without you!
