United Way of NWA is a forward thinking organization working to improve the capacity of individuals and families by mobilizing the caring power of our community through collaboration with our partners.
United Way envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, and healthy lives.
Diversity & Inclusion
The past weeks have been tough for our country and our communities. At United Way of Northwest Arkansas we have spent this past week talking to our staff, partners and community leaders brainstorming how we can be facilitators of “Lasting Change” in our community.
United Way fights for greater opportunity for EVERY person in EVERY community. We stand for ALL people of color and are committed to fighting for justice and equality. Racism has no place in our community; yet, racial inequity is still a significant barrier for many of our NWA neighbors. We are committed to addressing inequities that prevent people from accessing opportunities that can lead to a pathway towards prosperity.
United Way of NWA is steeped in tradition and history of being a beacon of hope and change in Northwest Arkansas and we see this as a moment to shine even brighter.
Our belief is that community challenges are sustainably solved when all parties come together and the time for change is now. Together we can unite to create better days for EVERYONE in NWA and around the country.
Our Core Values
We are thoughtful, prudent, and honest with the use of funds and hold ourselves accountable on every decision.
We routinely scrutinize our actions/programs to ensure impact is meaningful and relevant and then refine and adjust.
We think outside the box and look ahead to bring awareness to the ever-changing needs of the community to improve the quality of living.
We lead and connect with the community, non-profits and local businesses to bring people together to address common issues.
We offer solutions to guide other organizations to be most effective in serving the community.
United Way of Northwest Arkansas is an independently-governed 501(c)3 nonprofit organization connected to a network of more than 1,400 local United Ways through United Way Worldwide. We have our own board of directors and focus our work creating long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems within our community.
